Description

At the end of 2023, San Francisco achieved a Pavement Condition Index (PCI) of 75, surpassing the previous year by one point. This positions the city at the forefront of roadway conditions among major Bay Area cities. Thanks to over a decade of funding from Captial Planning and the State for the San Francisco Public Works’ Street Resurfacing Program, excellent Design and Construction Management teams who worked tirelessly to implement projects, we treated over 8,000 blocks in the last 15 years and steadily raised the PCI from the mid 60’s to 75 today. Last year alone we resurfaced over 500 blocks. We consistently adhere to the industry’s best practice of “Right Road, Right Treatment, Right Time.” As a result, we’ve elevated the overall network conditions while prioritizing the maintenance and resurfacing of streets in every neighborhood throughout the City.
