Culver Boulevard Realignment & Stormwater Project

The Culver Boulevard Realignment and Stormwater Capture Project is a $18.3M multi-benefit project improves traffic, pedestrian safety, bicycle mobility, improves and protects water quality by capturing runoff from 796 acres of watershed, treats and stores runoff in an 8 acre-feet underground reservoir, and filters and discharges some a portion of the treated stormwater back into the storm drain system.  Treated stormwater is also pumped and used as irrigation for the 2-acre landscaped median.

The project improves quality of life by improving traffic flow with the road realignment of Culver Boulevard.  Pedestrian safety was improved with enhanced cross walks and improved traffic signals.  Mobility was improved with separated pedestrian and bicycle paths on the median.  Parking buffers were installed to protect parked vehicles.
Interpretive signage and interactive educational experience using augmented reality to improve the local experience and highlight the cultural history and water quality benefits of this project along Culver Boulevard.
