Project Description

This project included construction of a roundabout on Ynez Road at the intersection of La Paz Road. Improvements included construction of a raised traffic circle with desert style hardscape inside the circle; along with public art component, a bronze horse statue in recognition of equestrian theme residential neighborhood. This project maintains the natural beauty of the community and improves traffic safety at the intersection. The roundabout was a partnership between the City of Temecula, nearby commercial development project (Temecula Gateway) and Los Ranchitos Homeowner’s Association. The developer provided financial contribution in-lieu of requirement for installation of traffic signal at subject intersection. The Homeowner’s Association provided financial contribution toward acquisition of necessary right-of-way, as well as donation of bronze horse statue. The City of Temecula was contracting agency and provided oversight for construction of the roundabout.
