Fremont Street Bridge/Low Water Crossing Replacement Project

Prior to the construction being completed, Fremont Street would be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic due to floodwaters making the street impassable. Floodwaters also put underground utilities at risk. The project construction elevated the roadway 10 feet above the box culvert. An underground utility corridor was created within the 10 feet. This is a tremendous improvement from just 8 years ago, when our network average PCI was only 62. Our pavement management program divides our roadway network into 7 geographic areas.
